Zhittya Genesis Medicine is advancing a hypothesis that many neurodegenerative disease, such as CTE and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder are initiated and progress due to a lack of blood flow or perfusion in the brains of individuals suffering from these disorders. This lack of adequate blood flow gradually starves neurons in different areas of the brain leading dysfunctional neurons and to eventually the death of those neurons, as well as improper removal of metabolic waste from those cells. Zhittya Genesis Medicine and other researches believe that the small vessels in the brain, the capillaries which make up the microvasculature, have diminished for a variety of reasons, including environmental stimulus, defective genes, exposure to certain toxins and changes brought on by the aging process. For example, if the blood flow is insufficient to the area of the brain responsible for emotions, the people experience reduced emotional control and expression.
